About Total War 40K Guides

Total War 40K Guides is an independent reference site for Total War: WARHAMMER 40,000, the strategy game announced by Creative Assembly and SEGA under licence from Games Workshop. The game has no announced release date. This site exists to say, clearly and with dates, what is actually known about it — and what is not.

What this site is for

Two communities are looking at this game from opposite sides. People who have played Total War for years know how its battles work but have never heard of an Ogryn. People who have played Warhammer 40,000 on the tabletop for decades know exactly what a Baneblade is but have no idea what happens when you put one in a line unit slot in a strategy game.

This site is written for both, and its subject is the space between them: what the tabletop says, what the publisher has actually announced, and the open questions that the translation from one to the other creates. Those questions are the point. They are what a wiki does not answer.

What this site does not do

It does not publish leaks, datamined files, or anonymous rumours. Not once, not as an exception. Most of them are wrong, and publishing them would destroy the only thing that makes a site like this worth reading.

It does not speculate about the release date. That is the most searched question about this game, and that is precisely why we will not invent an answer to it. The page on that subject says what has been published: nothing.

It does not give gameplay advice — no counters, no tier lists, no build orders. Nobody outside Creative Assembly has played this game. There is no honest way to write a tip about it today. When there is, we will write it.

Independence

This site is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with SEGA, Creative Assembly or Games Workshop. It receives nothing from them and speaks for nobody. Everything published here is sourced to material anyone can open, linked and dated.
