Registration for the closed beta is closed. In its official Steam announcement of 18 September 2026, Creative Assembly says registration ended on 14 September. People who registered before that deadline should receive an eligibility survey, which they must complete to remain under consideration. Completing it does not guarantee a place. The studio will review responses, select participants and contact successful applicants later with the test schedule and access instructions. The announcement does not give that schedule.
Context and precedents
The publisher opened expressions of interest on 7 June 2026. Its announcement of 11 September set the registration deadline for 14 September and described the planned test. On 18 September it confirmed the closure and explained the eligibility survey. The official playtests page read on 29 September also says registration is closed. These are stages of the selection process; they do not establish that selected players already have access to the beta.
What has actually been shown
The 11 September announcement says the closed beta will be PC only, via Steam. Its planned content includes the first part of the tutorial, the opening two single-player campaigns with Space Marines, multiplayer and custom battles with Space Marines, Astra Militarum, Orks and custom factions, and the advanced customisation system. Aeldari will not be playable in this beta. The studio describes an unfinished part of the game, with bugs, placeholder assets, unfinished localisation and balance issues. This is the announced test scope, not a complete launch roster or a final specification. The two September posts do not state the participant count or publication permissions; those need the applicable test terms.
What to watch next
If you registered before 14 September, the publisher’s next step is the eligibility survey. A completed survey keeps an applicant under consideration but does not promise access. If you missed that deadline, the current playtests page does not offer an open registration for this beta. Selected applicants are to receive the schedule and access instructions later. For everyone else, the studio announced a development-team livestream of the test, without giving its date in these posts.
