Where this unit stands

According to press coverage of the presentation on 7 June 2026, Rogal Dorn-type tanks were among the Astra Militarum vehicles shown — not confirmed by the publisher in any material we were able to open. On the tabletop the Rogal Dorn is a heavier battle tank than the Leman Russ, added to the range recently. No statistic has been published for any unit in this game.

02

What the tabletop establishes

The Rogal Dorn sits between the Leman Russ and the super-heavy tanks in the setting’s armour hierarchy: more armour, more guns, and a hull built around a main battle cannon, without reaching the scale of a Baneblade. It is a recent addition to the tabletop range, which is worth noting only because it tells you the game is drawing on the current state of the setting rather than an older snapshot of it.

A heavier battle tank than the Leman Russ, added to the range recently: more armour, more guns, and a hull built around a main battle cannon.

Tabletop identity, as established by Games Workshop. It says nothing about the video game.
03

What has actually been shown

Only its presence has been reported, in the same sentence as the Leman Russ and the Baneblade. Nothing else about it has been published: no cost, no role, no unit size, no distinction from the other two in game terms. That shared sentence is itself the whole of the record, and it is worth being precise about what it does and does not establish. It establishes that a journalist saw or was told the name. It does not establish that the three are separate units, that they sit at different tiers, or that any of them behaves differently from the others. A single published unit entry naming the three apart would settle it. None exists. Information correct as of 3 September 2026.

04

What to watch next

The open question comes from the shape of that one sentence rather than from any statement. Three armoured vehicles of three clearly different weights appeared together — a standard tank, a heavier tank, and a super-heavy. That reads like a tier system, where an army progresses from one to the next, and it is exactly how Total War normally structures a roster. But a press description of what happened to be on screen is not a design statement, and reading a progression into it would be inference presented as information. What can honestly be said: three weights of armour exist in the same faction, and nobody has explained how they relate. Reported by press coverage of 8 June 2026, not confirmed by the publisher. Information correct as of 18 August 2026.

What is not known

These questions have no published answer as of 8 June 2026. They are listed because an absence of information is information — and because we would rather name the gap than fill it.

?Press coverage names Rogal Dorn-type tanks among the vehicles shown, alongside the Leman Russ and the Baneblade.
?Three armoured vehicles of three different weights were shown together. Whether that reflects a tier system, or simply what happened to be on screen, has not been stated.
