Where this topic stands

A Stompa appears in the announcement trailer of 12 December 2025 — Warhammer Community pointed it out itself, which makes its presence in the game one of the few unit facts backed by the publisher rather than by the press. Press coverage of 7 June 2026 additionally reports Stompas in the Armageddon footage. On the tabletop, a Stompa is an Ork war engine the size of a building. No statistic has been published for any unit in this game.

What the tabletop establishes

The Stompa is what happens when Ork mechanics are given no supervision and a great deal of scrap. It is the Ork equivalent of a super-heavy tank, except that it walks, and its weapons are as likely to be a giant chain weapon as a cannon. In the setting it is a rare thing, built for a specific war, and it is one of the largest models the tabletop game sells.

An Ork war engine the size of a building, welded together out of scrap around a crew and an enormous amount of enthusiasm. It is the Ork answer to a super-heavy tank, and it walks.

What has actually been shown

Its presence is better established than most: the publisher itself drew attention to it in the announcement, and the press reports it again six months later. What remains unpublished is everything else — whether it is recruitable, what it costs, how many can be fielded, and what an army does about one.

What to watch next

The Baneblade page asks how a super-heavy vehicle is costed in a line unit slot. This page asks the question that follows from having two of them. Both factions in the Armageddon footage field a war engine of that scale, which raises the question of whether they fight similar targets or serve different roles. A game where one faction has a Stompa and another has nothing comparable is a very different game from one where every faction has an equivalent. The sources reviewed do not explain whether each faction is intended to have an equivalent vehicle or to answer it by different means.
