What the tabletop establishes

Cadia was a fortress world with a deeply rooted military culture, and its regiments became a familiar image of the Imperial Guard. When the planet was destroyed, regiments serving elsewhere survived and continued to fight under its name. That contrast between a lost home world and an enduring military tradition gives Cadian troops a distinctive place in the setting. Their video-game recruitment conditions remain a separate question from that inheritance.
